API Data Sees Large Rise in US Oil Supplies
The American Petroleum Institute reports US commercial inventories of crude oil rose by a hefty 4.5M barrels last week, a source citing the data says, while gasoline supplies declined by 2.3M. The rise in crude came after another weekly transfer of oil from national strategic reserves to the commercial side. The data were released ahead of official EIA inventory data due tomorrow. Average forecasts in a WSJ survey indicate the EIA report will show crude rose by 600,000 barrels from the previous week and that gasoline decreased by 900,000.
